So me and my lad took our restored C5's on a run down Blackpool promanade at the weekend. Our C5's... "Sylar" and "Hiro" performed very well covering about 7 miles.
Sylar runs like a dream, the motor runs very smoothly and sounds just right. Sylar runs on a Humax leisure battery and Hiro on a new Sinclair battery. Sylar is fitted with City Jet tyres and these are just fine and also a steel front wheel.
Hiro gave up the ghost on battery power at about 6 miles and Sylar pushed us all along the remaining mile (simply amazing power hardly needs a pedal up hills either) yet Hiro is no where near as powerful.
The response from the public was amazing along the journey.
Why the C5 was never fitted with some simple suspension I don't know.
Sylar went on to go the next 5 miles on the same battery an charge home whilst Hiro hitched a ride in the car
So what faults occurred?...Well Sylar snapped a brake cable and oddly never seems to get hot or prompt for pedal on the motor load display on the pod. Just stays as a green led
and this is despite pushing both c5's for a mile. Could this be a fault in the control box relating to the shunt?
Regardless amazing day and great bonding with my lad... C5's are brilliant.
